THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR BLOOD DONORS • SIGN UP WITH THE AMERICAN RED CROSS TODAY!
ON JUNE 14, 2005, THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION AND THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS ORGANIZED THE FIRST EVER WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY. I WAS BORN ON THAT EXACT DAY, 18 YEARS AGO. I AM GEN-Z. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE HEALING POWER OF DOING GOOD. MY FORMAL CHALLENGE HAS ENDED, BUT THE NEED REMAINS.
Did you know, that with parental consent, you are allowed to donate blood once you turn 16 or 17?
Only 5 US states (Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, New Mexico and Wyoming) make you wait until age 17.
MY 2022 CHALLENGE INCREASED AWARENESS WITH TEENAGERS & YOUNG ADULTS WHO MAY HAVE BECOME ELIGIBLE
DURING THE PANDEMIC TIME FRAME, WITHOUT ACTUALLY LEARNING HOW TO BECOME A BLOOD DONOR.
MY CHALLENGE INCLUDED PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, AND FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, TO SIGN UP AND BECOME DONORS.
BLOOD DONORS GIVE BACK IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES, IN THIS MEANINGFUL AND IMPACTFUL WAY.
YOU ARE LITERALLY GIVING OF YOURSELF TO HELP ANOTHER PERSON WHEN YOU DONATE YOUR BLOOD.
AND SOMEDAY THAT OTHER PERSON MAY BE YOU.
BY PARTNERING WITH THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, WE ENCOURAGE NATIONWIDE PARTICIPATION TO SIGN UP AND BE COUNTED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS BLOOD DRIVE LOCATIONS HOSTED DAILY ALL AROUND OUR COUNTRY WITH DONATION SPACES TO FILL. THESE PLACES ARE EASY TO LOCATE AND SIGN UP FOR, BASED ON YOUR PERSONAL ZIP CODE.
DRAMATIC SHORTFALLS IN BLOOD DONATIONS MEANS YOUR BLOOD IS NEEDED NOW.
MAKE PLANS TO DONATE WITH ANOTHER FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER, AND HELP KEEP OUR NATION’S BLOOD SUPPLY STABLE.
-----MANY PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE NEVER DONATED BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED-----
WELL, I AM ASKING YOU NOW TO MEET THIS CHALLENGE. LET'S MAKE AN IMPACT, TOGETHER, ONE ARM AT A TIME.
Donating blood is easy and safe, and essential to maintaining the health of ALL our communities.

• If you are not eligible to donate, you can still inspire others to!
Bring a friend for moral support or to donate with you — the PIERCE 2022 TEEN BLOOD DRIVE CHALLENGE was all about making an impact together and having fun while doing it. Take a selfie to share with your friends or family during your donation! Help us inspire others...one arm at a time.
Once you’ve finished donating, ask others to. It's not often that something you do can save someone else's life. Each donation made can save or improve the lives of three other people. Remember the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.
